We built a unique barn
We needed a multipurpose structure that we could afford and build ourselves. We decided on pole barn construction with overall dimension of 48 feet wide by 60 feet long. The main structure is 24 feet wide with two 12 foot lean to bays. We used engineered trusses for the main structure for the 24 foot span and to support a hay trolley for putting up loose hay.
The cost for the barn including structure, wiring, and plumbing is just about $100,000 USD. We built the entire structure ourselves with some help with the concrete and the trusses. We started in August 2019, and completed the main components in time for milking cows in April 2020. The entire process is on YouTube : Clover Mountain Dairy Barn Build Playlist.
